Current initiatives and accomplishments:
Wounded Warriors:
This office supports our nation’s Wounded Warriors by ensuring a seamless continuum of care as soldiers transition from military service to civilian life. In 2008, a joint effort was established between the Department of Defense (DoD) and Veteran’s Affairs (VA) to accomplish this goal. In order to further this goal, a Senior Oversight Committee (SOC) was established. This committee was charged with implementing recommendations from the Task Force on the Future of Military Health Care. One recommendation relates to partnering together to recruit behavioral health talent. In an effort to support these efforts between DoD and the VA, the Human Capital Office recruiter advertises and informs candidates of positions within both the DoD and the VA. Additionally, our office participated in a DoD/VA joint recruiting conference in December 2009.
