Serving as a horizontal integrator across the Military Health System, the Office of the Chief Technology Officer is focused on synergizing development and innovation efforts across the enterprise in an effort to improve the vast set of health Information Management/Information Technology solutions available to MHS health care providers.
In 2010 the OCTO created a set of strategic focus areas aimed at improving day-to-day operations of the MHS while also promoting opportunities for increased efficiencies and collaboration throughout the enterprise. These efforts focus on various efforts across the enterprise, including those related to improving governance and standards practices, developing long range technical architecture plans, providing decision support services, transitioning the MHS to a net-centric environment, and supporting innovation lifecycle management.
