The 2012 MHS Conference is fast approaching and all four days will be jam-packed with information for medical personnel attending from across the nation.  In order to get the most out of the conference experience, a little pre-planning can go a long way.

Monday, Jan. 30 will be all about workshops.  A variety of subjects will be covered, ranging from “Integrated Warrior Care” to “National Prevention Strategy and MHS Implications.”  To view the entire listing visit the 2012 MHS Conference agenda page.

The schedule of events for Tuesday kicks off with the opening ceremony at 8:00 a.m., followed by two plenary sessions that morning and breakout sessions throughout the afternoon.  Breakout topics include, “Culture Eats Strategy for Breakfast” and “Operation Tomodchi: Navigating Uncharted Waters.”  There will also be a “Surgeon’s General Expert Panel Discussion.”

The action continues Wednesday and Thursday with plenary sessions in the morning, followed by breakout sessions the rest of the day.  In addition, an exposition hall will be open from Jan. 31 – Feb. 1 providing an opportunity to interact with services spanning the medical community.  Also in the hall, representatives from the MHS social media team will be offering attendees hands-on training and insights about the opportunities of social networking tools.

For both attendees and those tracking the conference remotely, the MHS social media team will be tweeting throughout the conference and can be followed at @healthdotmil.  Use the hashtag #MHSCon12 to share thoughts and ideas.  And, after the conference, stay connected with military health updates using the hashtag #milhealth.
