DCoE to Host Webinar on Sports, the Military, and Recurrent Concussion

An upcoming Webinar will address recurrent concussion in the sports and military communities.

The Webinar, hosted by the Defense Centers of Excellence for Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury and titled “Sports, the Military and Recurrent Concussion,” will be held Thursday, March 25, from 1 to 3 p.m. Eastern time.

 

The Webinar will offer an overview of the current state of sports-related concussions, including the emerging science of recurrent concussion, along with discussion on collaborations between the sports and military communities to change the clinical guidelines and culture surrounding these injuries. 

 

Speakers will include:

  • Cmdr. Scott Pyne, MC, USN, Navy Sports Medicine Leader from the Office of the Medical Inspector General
  • Col. Michael S. Jaffee, M.D., MC, USAF, FS, National Director of the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center

All service members, family members, government employees, health care providers, subject matter experts, and anyone interested in this topic are encouraged to join.
