In order to reduce medical errors and achieve optimal clinical outcomes, continuous improvements in teamwork processes are crucial. Ongoing evaluation of teamwork, sharing of impact made, and continued training is essential to TeamSTEPPS success. Here are some resources to help you achieve the ultimate goal of patient safety.

The Medical Team Performance Assessment Tool (MTPAT): This software application allows medical teams to assess and analyze teamwork performance so that continuous improvements can be made to patient safety processes. This tool is currently available only to DoD facilities.

The Team Effectiveness Accelerator (TEA): This is a web-based tool that allows teams to diagnose any gaps in teamwork such as disagreements about roles and priorities, loss of situation awareness or lack of teamwork behaviors, then to rectify these gaps through targeted debriefs. This tool is currently available only to DoD facilities.

Impact Stories: These are accounts from health care organizations that identify any impacts made as a result of implementing TeamSTEPPS processes at their facilities.

Webinars: Online information discussions focused on TeamSTEPPS and patient safety are conducted regularly by the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ).
