Ongoing monitoring of the effectiveness of teams and the plan implemented is essential in the sustainment phase of TeamSTEPPS. Here are some evaluation tools that can be used to monitor teamwork at your facility.
- The Team Performance Observation Tool: This tool is used to rate the performance of teams under the five dimensions of team structure, leadership, situation monitoring, mutual support and communication.
- The TeamSTEPPS Teamwork Perceptions Questionnaire (T-TPQ): This new measurement tool helps determine how an individual perceives the current state of teamwork within an organization, and has been designed to correlate with the AHRQ Hospital Survey on Patient Safety (HSOP) work area/unit subscale constructs.
- The TeamSTEPPS Teamwork Attitudes Questionnaire (T-TAQ): This measurement tool is used to evaluate if TeamSTEPPS tools and strategies helped in enhancing an individual participant's attitudes, knowledge and skills on teamwork.
