Medical Executive Competencies Review (MECR) |
Access by invite only (not open to all)
The LEADS conducts this review every three years. This process is essential in order to maintain current and relevant competency standards for military healthcare leaders. For this important task, you will be joined by peers representing the Army, Navy, and Air Force, the LEADS staff, and several guests.
Thirty-five competencies comprise the framework for the medical executive skills required of senior leaders prior to assuming command at medical treatment facilities or assuming key medical command staff positions. Each competency is described by a set of behaviors. Review board participants will evaluate these competencies for relevance and validity, and will provide recommendations for change where applicable. This will involve both independent consideration in advance using read-ahead materials and participation in the facilitated on-site review. Decisions made by consensus of the group will accomplish the revalidation of the competencies.
