Armed Forces Health Surveillance Branch

The Elements of Military Health Surveillance and Preserving the Health of US Armed Forces

The Armed Forces Health Surveillance Branch (AFHSB) plays a critical role in the U.S. military's Force Health Protection program. As the central epidemiologic resource for the U.S. Armed Forces, AFHSB conducts medical surveillance to protect all those who serve our nation in uniform and allies who are critical to our national security interests.

Our goal is to be the central, integrated, customer-focused epidemiologic and global health surveillance resource for the U.S. Armed Forces. Learn about our mission by reading the AFHSB Annual Report.
