It's time to mark your calendars for the 2022 VA/DOD Women's Mental Health Virtual Workshop Series which will take place in August 2022! This exciting training event is an opportunity for mental health providers working within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Department of Defense (DOD) to refresh their clinical skills and knowledge in serving women veterans and service members and their families.
This live, virtual workshop series will equip VA and DOD mental health providers with clinical knowledge and skills to deliver gender-sensitive and affirming care to women veterans and service members. The training event will take place on four different dates and participants can register for up to two workshops. The sessions will help providers enhance their ability to approach clients in an affirmative and culturally sensitive manner, being mindful of the intersectionality of their identities.
The interactive two-hour workshops will address issues providers are likely to encounter when working with women veterans and service members. Our nationally recognized speakers will present in-depth training on topics related to women's mental health issues across the lifespan such as reproductive mental health, eating disorders, affirmative transgender care, minority stress, peri-menopausal mental health, perinatal mental health, emotion regulation, and complex trauma.
