Description

This three-day live virtual mini-residency will include a blend of didactic sessions and small group, case-based discussions. Nationally recognized VA and DoD subject matter experts will share their knowledge on unique aspects of women’s mental health, including the key influences of sex, gender and reproductive cycle stages.

Following the training, participants will understand the continuum of experiences of women veterans and service members, with an emphasis on pre-deployment, deployment, post-deployment and transitional experiences as they relate specifically to women. Participants will gain knowledge to develop strategies and action plans to disseminate best practices for gender-sensitive mental health care to providers and leadership at their local facilities.
