Concussion Awareness in the DOD: Prevent, Recognize, Recover

Thumbnail image of the downloadable Concussion Awareness Day event flier

At the Traumatic Brain Injury Center of Excellence, every day is concussion awareness day.

National Concussion Awareness Day is observed on the third Friday in September annually, and TBICoE is ready for it. During this online event, clinicians will summarize TBI basics, including how to prevent, recognize, and recover from TBI. They’ll also identify resources you can access to learn how you can "Be a Brain Warrior" and protect your head from concussion, also known as a mild traumatic brain injury.

Download the event flier to share with friends, family members, colleagues, or anyone! Data shows that concussion accounts for more than 80% of TBI's sustained by service members from 2000-2022!
