Join TBICoE for the Brain Injury Awareness Month education event Patient-Centered TBI Care: An Interdisciplinary Approach to Rehabilitation and Recovery. TBI providers both inside and outside the DHA will discuss comprehensive elements of TBI recuperation and cover topics such as nutrition, mind/body wellness, sleep, mental health, community participation, and the impacts of support on recovery.
Providers along with their partners have shifted their focus to a patient-centered interdisciplinary care approach based on public health policy and guidance. One public health model looks at wellness through five pillars: physical, psychological, social, spiritual, and emotional. Using these five pillars, providers will explore the rehabilitation and recovery of individuals living with TBI.
