San Antonio has historically been known as Military City USA. In 2017, the city officially trademarked the term. This term demonstrates San Antonio’s deep military roots and its commitment to supporting the military. San Antonio is America’s seventh largest city (1.45 million). You will find a city full of history and culture.

There are so many things that San Antonio and the surrounding areas offer including:

Outdoors and Nature

  • Over 110 miles of city trails
  • Tobin Land Bridge
  • Over 250 City Parks
  • Texas State Parks and Natural Areas such as Enchanted Rock and Pedernales Falls

Visit the famous San Antonio Riverwalk, farmer’s markets, amusement parks, waterparks, floating down the Guadalupe or Comal rivers, Canyon Lake, Zoo, Safari, botanical gardens and an amazing (and growing) foodie scene.


Not only does San Antonio have an amazing foodie scene, but it is also only one of two cities in the US that has been designated a UNESCO living city for Gastronomy. That means that the international community thinks San Antonio’s food culture is so diverse and special that they send funds to keep it alive, thriving and growing.
