Lapse in Federal Appropriations

The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status. Visit www.dha.mil/shutdown for more information.

Medical Student Rotation Information

Welcome to Keesler Medical Center. We sponsor two GME Training programs in General Surgery and Internal Medicine.

Medical Student Rotation Descriptions

General Surgery

The General Surgery residency program has weekly surgical conferences led by staff and/or subspecialists. There are rotational opportunities in general and subspecialty surgery.

Internal Medicine

The Internal Medicine residency program has a daily morning report and noon conference led by staff and/or subspecialists. There are rotational opportunities in inpatient and outpatient medicine and in the subspecialty clinics.

Medical student rotations must be requested via email through the GME Coordinator, Internal Medicine Coordinator, or General Surgery Coordinator, contact information is below:

Upon entering the facility, follow the signs to the elevator. Take the elevator to the fifth floor. The GME office is located in Room 5A-167.
