Lapse in Federal Appropriations

The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status. Visit www.dha.mil/shutdown for more information.

Local Area Information

Tripler Army Medical Center lies within the metropolitan area of Honolulu, the state capital of Hawaii, our 50th state. It is located on the island of Oahu (“The Gathering Place”), the most populous of the primary Hawaiian Islands. Hawaii is a world-renowned travel destination surrounded by the Pacific Ocean with beautiful natural scenery, ample public beaches, and active volcanoes. It has a rich history and diverse culture. The Daniel K. Inouye International Airport allows for easy access to the neighbor islands of Hawaii (“The Big Island”), Kauai (“The Garden Isle”), Maui (“The Valley Isle”), Molokai (“The Friendly Isle”), and Lanai (“The Pineapple Isle”).
