The COVID-19 pandemic intensified the stresses in many of our lives, and made some people less likely to seek clinical mental health support. This Mental Health Month, the MHS is sharing stories of how members of the military community boost their own mental health and resilience, and emphasizing the value of evidence-based treatments with mental health professionals. Both approaches can make real improvements in your mental health and quality of life.

"What Works for Me" Campaign

The “What Works for Me” campaign aims to stimulate conversation among providers, service members, and other members of the military community to share the tools that support their own mental health and emphasize the effectiveness of evidence-based treatment available to all service members and families in the MHS. This May, service members, leaders, and health care providers will share what works for them to sustain their mental health, and relieve stress, sleep better, practice self-care, and more. We are also approaching Mental Health through two Total Force Fitness domains, Environmental Fitness and Psychological Fitness.

During Mental Health Month, the MHS also seeks to increase awareness about behavioral health care services and promote and enhance suicide prevention, intervention, and follow-up care for service members and their families.
