FORT JOHNSON, La. — Highlighting its nationally recognized achievements in patient safety and quality, Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital was named a Top Rural Hospital by The Leapfrog Group. The Leapfrog Top Hospital award is widely acknowledged as one of the most competitive awards American hospitals can receive. The Top Hospital designation is bestowed by The Leapfrog Group, a national watchdog organization known as the toughest standard-setters for health care safety and quality. Top Hospitals were honored Dec. 5 at the 2023 Leapfrog Annual Meeting and Awards Dinner in Washington, D.C.

Patient Safety Awareness Week 2024

The MHS has been engaged in the PSAW campaign for many years. Hospitals, clinics, and health care organizations across the country plan events to draw awareness of patient safety within their own organizations as part of a journey towards safe care and zero harm. Each year, military hospitals and clinics host events, like hygiene education and simulation training exercises. Some locations lead team-building activities, such as patient safety bingo or gathering pledge signatures to engage in PSAW. Please join the MHS in PSAW and let us know how your facility is raising awareness, whether that's with celebration event photos, patient safety stories or something more.
