Defense Health Board

The Defense Health Board is a Federal Advisory Committee to the Secretary of War that provides independent advice and recommendations on matters pertaining to:

  • DOW health care policy and program management
  • The delivery of high-quality health care services to DOW beneficiaries
  • The promotion of health, wellness, and prevention within the DOW
  • The treatment of disease and injury by the DOW
  • Health research priorities
  • Other health-related matters of special interest to the DOW

Mission

Our mission is to provide independent advice and recommendations to maximize the safety and quality of, as well as access to, health care for Department of War health care beneficiaries.
