Hospital Corpsman Third Class Lee H. Deal died May 17, 2006, as a result of injuries sustained in combat while clearing a suspected insurgent stronghold in Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to the 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, based in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Deal is buried at the Roselawn Memorial Garden, Calhoun, Louisiana.
