Rising stars of military medicine earn coveted awards at 2026 Military Health System Research Symposium

Representing the research team from the Joint Pathology Center, Silver Spring, Maryland, Army Maj. (Dr.) Anna-Maria Travis, veterinary pathologist, U.S. Army Veterinary Corps, accepts the Young Investigator competition’s honorable mention award for a poster presentation titled, “A New Diagnostic for MWDs: Static Cytology Maximizes Readiness, Accelerates Treatment and Trains Military Officers,” at the 2026 Military Health System Research Symposium in Kissimmee, Florida, Aug. 6. The competition honored early-career researchers for their innovative studies of warfighter health and readiness.
