Dr. John Casey, director of global health engagements for Medical Readiness Command – Europe, has been awarded the 2026 Spirit of Hope Award by the United States Department of War in recognition of his outstanding commitment to service members and their families. The ceremony, hosted by the Department of War Director of Administration and Management, was held in the Pentagon on Sept 23. The prestigious military decoration is presented annually to individuals or organizations whose work significantly improves the quality of life, well-being and morale of military personnel across the globe. Casey was selected for his extraordinary contributions to operational readiness, healthcare coordination and enduring multinational medical partnerships throughout the European theater.
