My mother was a Women in the Air Force (WAF) at Offutt Air Force Base from 1956-1957. I was born at Offutt AFB in 1957. My mother, Delores “Dolly” Dusek Sylvia, was a sports editor for the Offutt AFB newspaper (see article from 1956). After her Air Force career, we moved back to her hometown of La Grange, Texas. She passed away in 2002. I began working at 59th Medical Wing in 2013 and am now a Senior Scientist Contractor in the Chief Scientist's Office/Science & Technology at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland.
