Desiree Pointer was presented with the Military Health System 2023 Military Nursing Leadership Award – senior winner, by Dr. Lester Martinez-Lopez, Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs, and U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen Robert Miller, U.S. Air Force and U.S. Space Force Surgeon General, on Feb. 15 in National Harbor, Maryland. Pointer serves as the Healthcare Operations Squadron Commander assigned to the 49th Medical Group, Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico.
