Includes clinical and administrative activities, processes, and policies to identify, monitor, assess, mitigate, and prevent risks to the health care organization, patients, and staff. By employing risk management, the health care organization proactively and systemically safeguards patient safety and the organization’s resources, accreditations, legal or regulatory compliance, assets, and customer confidence (integrity).
