Doing Business with Defense Health Agency Office of Small Business Programs

The DHA Office of Small Business Programs engages in a wide variety of procurement activities at both the Prime and Subcontractor levels that may be of interest to small businesses.

The following list is a sample of what the DHA buys:

  • Managed Care Support
  • Dental Support
  • Information Management/Information Technology

Before determining which of these possibilities are the best course for your business, you should have a thorough understanding of what exactly the DHA is, the environment in which we exist, and the types of services and commodities we purchase.

Following are additional sites that provide Small Business information beyond the opportunities that exist within the DHA:

U.S. Small Business Administration

The Small Business Administration is the U.S. Government's "central office" for small business whose sole purpose is to assist and promote small business development, utilization and growth. Each Cabinet Department has its own "Small Business" office that further assists the Small Business Community implementing Government-wide SBA policy as an integral part of their acquisition activities. The SBA website is a great place to start to familiarize yourself with the U.S. Government's Small Business Programs, including information about how to start a small business and where to find business opportunities.

DOD Office of Small Business Programs

This website contains information on DOD programs that benefit small businesses and DOD business opportunities.

System for Award Management

The System for Award Management (SAM.gov) is an official website of the U.S. Government. You can use SAM to register to do business with the U.S. Government, update, renew, or check the status of your entity registration, receive a Unique Entity ID, search for entity registration and exclusion records, search for assistance listings (formerly CFDA.gov), wage determinations (formerly WDOL.gov), and contract opportunities (formerly FBO.gov), run contract data reports (formerly part of FPDS.gov), view and submit BioPreferred and Service Contract Reports and access publicly available data via data extracts and system accounts. There is NO fee to register for this site.
