Offered by the Uniform Business Office, "Data and Billing in Sync: CMS 1500 (02/12)/837P" is a comprehensive guide to filling out the item numbers in the Professional Claim form. Upon successful completion of the training, a certificate of completion will be issued. CEU approval is in process.

Offered by the Immunization Healthcare Branch, the IHB Immunization Program Leaders Course (IPLC) is a two-day course designed to ensure credentialed healthcare providers, clinical managers, and other senior leaders understand responsibilities for the successful management of an immunization program.

Offered by the Defense Health Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation (DHCAPE) Office, the “Working Information Systems to Determine Optimal Management (WISDOM)” course provides guidance for MHS managers, data analysts and policy makers in the use of MHS data in support of operational questions, management decisions and corporate goals. Using a mix of instructive briefings and hands on exercises, WISDOM strives to provide these analysts and decision-makers with tools they need to support data-driven analysis and decision-making—keys to successful organizational performance. In general, WISDOM is the educational vehicle that can translate the widespread availability of corporate data through the MHS Management Analysis and Reporting Tool (M2) into improved MHS operations.

Offered by the Uniform Business Office, "Data and Billing in Sync: UB-04/837I" is a comprehensive guide to filling out the form locators in the Institutional Claim form. Upon successful completion of the training, a certificate of completion will be issued. CEU approval is in process.

Offered by the Uniform Business Office, the Patient Category (PATCAT) Training Module has been refreshed and provides detailed information for understanding the purpose of PATCAT codes, how they are structured and assigned, where to seek help, and additional resources.

Offered by the Defense Health Agency Program Integrity Office, this course will help participants increase their knowledge of anti-fraud activities, increase awareness of health care fraud and abuse, identify their role in fighting fraud and abuse against the Military Health System, identify potential fraud and abuse issues. The course also explains how to report cases to the Program Integrity Office.

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Privacy Act training is required of all Defense Health Agency (DHA) civilian, military, and contractor personnel. The mandatory HIPAA and Privacy Act training course must be completed within 30 days of on-boarding and annually, thereafter. The course is accessible via Joint Knowledge Online (JKO).

This self-paced elearning module is available to MHS military treatment facility staff and outlines the DoD Patient Safety Program’s suggested practices for conducting a root cause analysis, or RCA. The course follows the RCA process from the initial reporting of a patient safety event through the formation of the RCA Team, identification of contributing factors and root causes, and the recommendation of corrective actions. Designed for a general audience, “Root Cause Analysis” provides all levels of staff in MTFs with the information they need to actively participate in an RCA Team.

This 9-week course (#6a-F5) is designed to provide Army Medical Department (AMEDD) officers with the skills and knowledge to function in preventive medicine specialty areas at an entry level.

A five-day, interactive course designed for new Patient Safety Professionals working within MHS military treatment facilities who have been in their role less than one year. To get more information about the course and registration process, please contact the DoD Patient Safety Program. Service Representatives must approve the applicant prior to registration being processed.

Offered by the Immunization Health Branch, the Standards for Quality Immunization Practice Course (SQIPC) is a one-day course designed to ensure healthcare personnel are trained in vaccine policy, vaccine safety, effectiveness, and the standards of military immunizations.

This course introduces basic navigation and functionality features of the Joint Patient Safety Reporting system and the roles of system users, such as event reporters, event handlers, and investigators. The course can be accessed through the Joint Knowledge Online (JKO) Learning Management System (LMS).
