Airmen of the 354th Medical Group set up a portable decompression sickness chamber during a training exercise simulating an emergency for a patient requiring oxygen therapy, utilizing the hyperbaric stretcher both in place and on board the 168th Wing KC-135, May 3, 2024. The 354th Medical Group collaborated with the 168th Operations Group to train on the Emergency Evacuation Chamber portable decompression sickness chamber. Lt. Col. Pablo Medina, the 959th Medical Director of the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine Program, led the course, encompassing in-depth didactics and practical hands-on training. Participants gained comprehensive knowledge of the EEHS system, including the set-up, transport, and loading procedures.
