Defense Health Board

The Defense Health Board is a Federal Advisory Committee to the Secretary of Defense that provides independent advice and recommendations on matters pertaining to:

  • DOD health care policy and program management
  • The delivery of high-quality health care services to DOD beneficiaries
  • The promotion of health, wellness, and prevention within the DOD
  • The treatment of disease and injury by the DOD
  • Health research priorities
  • Other health-related matters of special interest to the DOD

Mission

Our mission is to provide independent advice and recommendations to maximize the safety and quality of, as well as access to, health care for Department of Defense health care beneficiaries.

The Defense Health Board's next meeting has not been scheduled due to the Department's pause on advisory committee operations pending the results of the review.
