Absence of Asymptomatic Mumps Virus Shedding Among Vaccinated College Students During Outbreak
From February-June 2017, a total of 42 mumps cases were reported among students at the University of Washington, Seattle campus. The majority of mumps cases in this outbreak occurred among fraternity and sorority members, all fully immunized according to current recommendations. No evidence was found of asympomatic mumps virus shedding.
