Joint Medical Planning Tool Course

Format: Resident, Exportable

The Joint Medical Planning Tool Course is a five-day, classroom-only course that provides hands-on training on the JMPT, as well as the Medical Planners' Toolkit. Through a series of exercises that utilizes the crawl, walk, run methodology, students will utilize the JMPT and Medical Planners' toolkit to develop a model that demonstrates the flow of patients from the point of injury through definitive care, implementing planning and logistics strategies for operational missions.

Pre-Requisite Courses

Students must either be nominated to attend the Joint Medical Operations Course - Basic in conjunction with JMPT or have previously attended JMOC-Basic.

Please Note: Previous attendance to a JMOC-Basic equivalent course (JMPC or JOMMC) will no longer be accepted as a course alternative to JMOC-Basic.

All COCOM and service component planners are exempt from the JMOC-Basic course completion requirement. This exemption does not extend to sub-components, such as numbered fleets, numbered armies, numbered air forces, and numbered MEFs.

Applying for a Course

Please note: Students who submit a service nomination request form and are not selected must re-submit a nomination form. The nomination forms DO NOT carry over to subsequent courses. The purpose of resubmitting a nomination form is to ensure that students are available for the course dates and the enrollment data matches course selection dates for audit purposes.

Funding: There are currently no registration fees for this course. Funding will be obtained through your unit unless informed otherwise.

  • Air Force: Personnel CANNOT SELF-NOMINATE; nominations must come through their respective COCOM/MAJCOM/NAF, and the list of nominees, including ANG and AFRC, will be sent directly to the HAF/SGXT OrgBox. Nominations sent directly to DMRTI will be disregarded without acknowledgment.
