POD Analytics Support

The POD Analytics Support provides world class customer support to all Military Health System (MHS) users while enhancing the operational effectiveness and ensuring the quality of information maintained within the Pharmacy Data Transaction Service (PDTS).

Pharmacy Data Transaction Service

The PDTS is a centralized data repository that allows us to build a common patient medication profile for all Department of Defense (DOD) beneficiaries regardless of the point of service they use. The PDTS was created to move the data from all MHS points-of-service—military pharmacies, TRICARE network pharmacies and home delivery—to a single pharmacy claims manager that maintains a central repository. Establishing one central patient medication profile allows a provider to review a patient’s complete medication history and therefore reduce their exposure to unnecessary safety risks that are present in a non-integrated pharmacy system.

When the PDTS was first developed, one of its objectives was to establish a method to report on the data maintained in the central repository. While the POD Analytics Support has had this capability from the beginning, it is now available to selected managers at various levels of DOD Pharmacy by way of using PDTS / DHA POSC software via an Internet Web Server.
